Women Rising in Midlife with Megan Dalla-Camina

Megan believes that midlife for women is a season which shapes how we view everything that has happened to us, who we are right now and what’s next. Megan has been on her own personal and leadership journey and is the founder and CEO of Women Rising, which has sparked her passion for helping thousands of women globally lead confidently and thrive. As we start to unhook, unlearn and reprogram in midlife, we face societal pressures and negative biases. In this fantastic episode, Jo and Megan explore how women rise in midlife and discuss:

  • Megan's early life, including creation, creativity, expression, freedom, and not wanting to be pinned down, chronic fatigue at 21 and the sense of tapping into something bigger and being guided by intuition.

  • Megan worked 18 hours a day worldwide. While she loved it, she also lost herself, to the point of many burnouts.

  • Systemic biases that exist in a patriarchal system and how to navigate that. Shift the conversation to more of a win-win scenario by calling men in, not calling them out.

  • Compared to what is best for us, the impact of a gendered construct of leadership and what an ideal looks like in society. Rather than shapeshifting ourselves and trying to fit a square peg, a round hole.

  • How much of our daily life can be driven be a should in your head.

  • The musts that are ingrained beliefs and expectations that are guided by a sense of urgency and doing it now, which creates havoc on already fractured nervous systems.

  • Turning our inner critic voice into an ally.

  • The 13 different archetypes, as mentioned in her book.
