The Benefits of Dry Body Brushing with Jo Clark and Bec Jakstas

The Benefits of Dry Body Brushing with Bec Jakstas

As we move into our midlife years, Bec Jakstas believes it’s important not to do too much and as you will hear in today’s episode over the years she has softened into this belief while committing to her own rituals and practices alongside self-compassion. Perhaps easier said than done, however noticing how your body is feeling as you are becoming older is a shift which takes time, practice and conscious effort. Specifically, I talk with Bec today about dry body brushing which is an ancient practice to help lymphatic flow and to release stagnation both in both the body and energetically. Listen as Bec and I chat about:

·       Dry body brushing as a tool and best techniques to incorporate it into your self-care practices. Working alongside it as a practice to enrich us, rather than another task to add to our already full plates.

·       Slowing down in life and enjoying the ride with less regimentation. How we often go at a hundred miles per hour. Asking the question – what are we racing towards?

·       How our body knows what we need and communicates with us each day. It can be our biggest teacher and using movement to shift energies and become less overwhelmed.

·       How changes are happening at a cellular level and the importance of speaking about perimenopause as part of a normal conversation.

I encourage you to follow the lovely Bec on Instagram and her company Stass & Co. You can also check out her website to find out more about her journey and where you can also start your own body brushing practices. An important part of my day now, which I didn’t even realise I was missing.

Here’s to redefining midlife and making our next half of life even better than the first.
