If you’re like me and the majority of women, you probably thought that menopause just happened. Some hot flushes when in your fifties, your period stops and ticked off the list. It’s way more than that and is not only important for women, but also important for anyone who lives with, works with or is in a relationship with a person who has menstrual cycles. Basically, everyone. Listen as I explain in this short episode about:

  • Puberty in reverse and how it is the winding down, rather than the ramping up.

  • How perimenopause starts happening without you even realising and how it can be entirely different, or with some similarities to other women around you.

  • How hormones play a part. Starting with lower progesterone, paired with erratic oestrogen, with changes to insulin metabolism. Meaning our hormones are in a constant state of flux.

  • How the years of perimenopause are a critical window for your health and wellness and what we can do to manage health problems from turning into larger and more permanent health problems in the future.
