Midlife Spanning Across the Generations with Dr Sasha Kowalenko

Jo is joined by Dr Sascha Kowalenko for the Redefining Midlife Podcast today. She is a clinical psychologist of 20+ years experience who is passionately driven to impact generational change by leading women to harness the power of their Mind, Body and Spirit so that they too can maximise their impact in Family, Life, Career and Business. Jo and Sascha have a certain spark, which has been fostered by a wonderful friendship over many years. Listen as Jo and Sascha discuss a wide range of topics including:

  • The experience of feeling alone in their midlife journey and how everyday ordinary women are sometimes waiting until they are ready to explode before having conversations or realising they next help and support.

  • The NESTS acronym which Sascha refers to regularly. Areas that women often aren’t attending to include Nutrition and hydration, Exercise and movement, Sleep and rest, Time alone and with others and Support.

  • Generations of expectations and structures that reinforce doing all the things and putting ourselves to the bottom of the list.

  • Having an intentional support network across multiple generations and friends who can support at all times.

Both Sascha and Jo are able to explore and open up many angles within this conversation and it offers questions which only further conversations about midlife and what we can do in order to better our understanding.
