Word of the Year: Recapping Episode 19 with Jo Clark

It’s hard to believe 2024 is just around the corner and while we enjoy a break for the festive season, I invite you to a few recaps of popular episodes of the Redefining Midlife Podcast. Firstly, I’m revisiting episode 19 which talks about the power of a word for the year. For the past couple of years, I’ve chosen a word of the year and it’s really helped me to be more intentional about my thoughts and my actions. If you’re feeling the need for a change, or you’re wanting to improve something, a great way to go into a brand spanking new year is to have a focus word. This has proven to be more successful than resolutions and can really help you to hone in on what you want more of in your life. Jo explores her own experiences in this solo episode and chats about:

  • The benefit of having a focus word is that it provides an anchor and encourages you to think both consciously and subconsciously when you’re making decisions. Specifically, what you want more of and what you want less of in your life.

  • The focus words for the last few years and what is coming up for 2024.

  • How to come up with your word of the year, what to improve, do differently, what we want more of in our lives.

  • How to keep your focus in the forefront of your mind.

I do hope this episode and the thought of having a word of the year has given you some inspiration and ideas. I’d really love to know if you have a word in mind. If you’re stuck on coming up with a word, then I’ve got a list of 300 words that will definitely help you. Send me DM on instagram or email me at jo@joclarkcoaching.com and I’ll email the list to you.
